Have they announced who will be in the Cricket Australia XI? Will it be an Australia under 15s select as per recent years or a proper selection of quality players?

Good to hear. It's always nice to have someone pick you up from the airport.

Its the ashes of a burnt cricket bail allegedly
Yes, the Cricket Australia Xi has been named. All the Australian states are playing in Sheffield Shield teams so it is a young team of next level players plus a couple with international experience. Cricket Australia XI tour squad: Jake Carder (WA), Jackson Coleman (Vic), Michael Cormack (SA), Daniel Fallins (NSW), Ryan Gibson (NSW), Nick Larkin (NSW), Simon Milenko (Tas), Tim Paine (Tas), Will Pucovski (Vic), Gurinder Sandhu (NSW), Jason Sangha (NSW), Matthew Short (Vic).
Western Australia are playing NSW in Sydney starting tomorrow so the WA XI at the WACA will be captained by Nathan Coulter-Nile who has been rested from the Shield team and contains one other player who has played Sheffield Shield cricket.

Can't believe you didn't send them to the Blacktown International Shitpark like you did the NZ side.

England have done the right thing Arrive in Perth for a few days stretching their legs, get some training in and then a 2 Day game to get going 4 day game in Adelaide checking out the day/night stuff to be prepared for the second Test. 4 day game in Townsville so reasonably close to Brisbane and in Queensland.... think they went from a game in Hobart to Brisbane last time. Which would be like preparing in Southampton before playing a Test at Durham
Perhaps they have competent cricket people involved in preparing their schedule unlike NZ. Still makes me laugh ...:: 501/1 declared vs Got On The Bus And Refused To Bat On Such A Treacherous Wicket

Was all due to pitch preparation being hampered by poor weather in the Sydney area Shame
Aaron Finch 288no Ryan Carters 209
I see Ryan Carters has retired from all cricket at 26 to study and work full time for the charity he started that funds educational programs for women in India, Sri Lanka etc while studying philosophy. Just another Aust cricketer making the world a better place.

Stoneman impressed as expected.
Expect if the Umpires are impartial he could score 350+ in the series.
If This is the future of Australian cricket I’d be concerned.

Both sides got what they wanted in the end England got some overs in and a day in the field WA got to take a look at a couple of 20 & 21yo’s in Josh Phillipe and Clint Hinchcliffe who haven’t played First class cricket yet. Only disappointment for WA is that they didn’t give Cameron Green a game. 18yo who dominated last years u19 Aust Championships that WA won averaging 80 with the bat and 11 with the ball. And then was picked for a late season Sheffield Shield match & took 5/24 v Tasmania.

Steven Finn ruled out of Ashes tour due to a knee injury.
What a fucking shock! He is more fragile than our back 4
Let’s hope he retires from International cricket.
Get Jofra Archer in ( checks eligibility )

Tom Curran called up to replace Finn.
England batting in Adelaide into the second session with the pink ball. Game is a bit of a shootout between Ball and Overton as the rest of the team seems set now .... subject to the arrival of B Stokes 1. Cook 2 Stoneman 3 Vince 4 Root 5 Malan 6 Bairstow 7 Alli 8 Woakes 9 Broad 10 Overton or Ball 11 Anderson
Cricket Australia XI includes Tim Paine whose wicketkeeping career has basically been ruined by a finger injury and is now out of Tasmania’s team with Wade moving there & Gurinder Sandhu who has played some cricket for NSW but is mainly a one day bowler. The rest are kids and up and comers including 18yo Jason Sangha who is meant to be THE bright young thing of NSW batting.
I think the Australian squad for the First Test may be named this weekend before a final set of Sheffield Shield games starting Sunday/Monday.

Stoneman, Vince and Malan have all made runs so far, which is a bit of a relief, thankfully all the bowlers getting injured won't affect the starting line up much
Mitchell Starc does worry me though, a lot
